This Week in Upper Intermediate

After a well-deserved public holiday on Monday, Upper Intermediate jumped back into the classroom on Tuesday for review week. Review week is the perfect opportunity to revisit all of the grammar and vocabulary we have learnt over the last two weeks.

We had exhilarating discussions on topics from festivals and carnivals around the world to serious social and economic issues in our respective countries. https://inforum.com.au/blog/this-week-in-upper-intermediate-3/ https://inforum.com.au/blog/this-week-in-upper-intermediate-3/

By using indirect speech to be more polite, we practiced asking sticky questions such as “Would you mind telling me how old you are?” A lot of fun, especially when answering with “That’s really none of your business!”

We also had a detailed look into the differences between defining and non-defining relative clauses. Finally, we finished off the week by taking a look at comparatives and deciding definitively that ‘The more you practise, the easier it gets!’
