Study English at Australia's most beautiful beach

Home » Gold Coast

There is only one Inforum Education and we know the "Goldie" better than anyone because we live, study, work and play here.

More than one million visitors a year come to the Gold Coast because it’s Australia’s number one beach tourist destination. We have over 50km of amazing beaches, sunshine all year round, an average daily temperature of 25C, World Heritage-listed rainforests and the biggest and best theme parks in Australia.

THE BEACHES

The Gold Coast has 50km of the best beaches in Australia. Whether you like surfing, swimming, walking, paddle-boarding, fishing or just lying around soaking up the sun, our beaches are a fantastic place to spend your time – you can even do your homework from your English class there… and the best part is they’re free!

THE CITY

The Gold Coast is a beautiful, safe and convenient city with around 710,000 people living here. Getting around is simple with plenty of transport, including the Gold Coast Light Rail but because it’s nice and flat, the easiest and cheapest way is by bicycle or skateboard! The main centres of the Gold Coast are: Southport (Inforum Education’s home), Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads and Robina.

WEATHER

The Gold Coast has some of the best weather in Australia, with hot summers and mild winters with plenty of sunshine. You’ll be swimming for at least six months of the year and when it’s cooler, you can spend your time relaxing on the beach with friends or cycling around, exploring our great bars and cafes. Whatever you do, make the most of our 300 days of sunshine per year!

AMAZING NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

Check out the wild kangaroos at Coombabah or the koalas and lorikeets at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also visit the World Heritage rainforests at Lamington National Park, Springbrook and Natural Bridge or watch the humpback whales as they lazily journey past our coast. Inforum Education has lots of great activities that you can join and see these amazing places.

EXCITING THEME PARKS

If you want a bit more action, how about checking out the best theme parks in Australia? The Gold Coast is home to: – Warner Brothers Movie World, – Sea World, – Dreamworld and – Wet’n’Wild water park.

FINDING WORK

There are over 200 students studying at Inforum at any time and almost all of them are working. Finding a job will usually depend on your level of English but it will depend 100% on how hard you look! It generally takes about 4 – 6 weeks to find a job on the Gold Coast and you’ll probably be working in a cafe, bar or restaurant as a waiter/waitress or cleaning or washing up staff.

The key to finding a job is networking because most jobs are not advertised. Here are a few tips:

  • Speak English all the time in school and therefore, make as many friends from different nationalities as you can. The students who do this always find a job faster than those who don’t speak English.
  • Join our Super Work Ready workshop to make your perfect CV, apply for a Tax File Number, learn how to make a perfect cup of coffee on the barista course and get your RSA certificate, which you’ll need to work in Australia.
  • Visit as many restaurants, clubs and hotels as you can to hand out your CV, and not just Surfers Paradise! Ask our marketers for tips on where to look for jobs.
